Peace is a lot of things to a lot of people, it can be a successful realtionship, prosperous career, five children, a day in the park, laying on the beach with the glaring sun pounding on your face or for me; peace is nonattachment to basically everything, disassociating yourself from everybody and everything around you, concentrating on your breathing, on the beat of your heart, taking yourself through your mind and thoughts to a quiet and serene space where nothing matters but the working of the universe. You are lost yet you feel home. You are far away, yet you feel so close to your inner God. You feel lonely, yet you feel so content with yourself. Your problems, your stress, the confusion and disfunctional world are so far away, they are from another planet. Your thoughts are deep from within your body's solar system of existence. You are at peace and never want to come back to the freeways, McDonalds, breaking news, the bills, the discontent customer that didn't get a grommet hole in the desk. You just want to stay suspended in space, deep thought and total peacefulness. MacVegan

"As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery… we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness."

Consciousness will always be present, though a particular consciousness may cease. For example, the particular tactile consciousness that is present within this human body will cease when the body comes to an end. Likewise, consciousnesses that are influenced by ignorance, by anger or by attachment, these too will cease. But the basic, ultimate, innermost subtle consciousness will always remain. It has no beginning, and it will have not end."
