What a remarkably optomistic quote, obviously by a wise and inspiring guru who viewed differnet cultures of the world from afar, mingling between the United States and India, thinking Indian but living in the U.S. The assumption that ignorance will vanish when education and reason becomes priority. We not only establish literacy from learned men and books of wisdon but we learn from experience and common sense. What would Vivekananda say to us in 2005 upon participating in current events, our world domination, our cultural values and our defintion of moral justice? Is ignorance vanishing and the literacy shining on all of us like the brightness of the sun? Or, are we just shallow and cannot rise above our delusion of superstition and fear? You would think that our minds and our values would advance as fast as our technology but the human race has gone backwards. If our priorities continue to focus on trivial manners and social issues and our computers and technical advancements multiply leaps and bounds, we will find ouorselves slaves to technology and prisoners of our little and incapable minds that will become dependent on technology for our mere existnce.........macvegan original
